One Board Town Hall

Our next One Board Town Hall meeting will be Sunday September 27 beginning at 9 am (during the Sunday School hour). Everyone is encouraged to come and hear about the One Board leadership model, ask questions, and share any comments they may have, especially persons who have not attended one of our previous town halls.

Lay Servant award

Laity Sunday is October 18, 2026. Nomination forms can be picked up at the church entrances and completed forms must be turned in to Bradley or Dianne Smith by October 3rd.

New Vision Board

Your ideas help build our future! What goals or projects would you like to see our church pursue in the coming year?Write your ideas on a sticky note and place it on the Vision Board in the narthex.

Baby Lisk Diaper Drive and Baby Shower

During the month of September, we'll be collecting diapers in sizes 3 and 4. Please purchase Pampers or Huggies and place them outside Pastor Bradley’s office door. There’s no need to wrap the diapers, but please attach a gift receipt to the package in case they need to be exchanged for a different size.

Mark your calendars for our church-wide baby shower on Sunday, October 11 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.

Ladies Night at the Church

Kairos Cookies Prison Ministry

October 7-11 at Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville, NC

Volunteers needed - If you are interested in helping, reach out to Jeff Rush at 704-770-5424 for more information.  

Homemade cookies needed - Please bring your cookies to the church between Sunday, October 4 and Wednesday, October 7. Leave your cookies in the kitchen on the counter. Jeff will pick these up on Wednesday, October 7. 

UWF Pinto Bean Supper

Homemade pinto beans, cornbread, slaw, dessert, and drink. Donations will be accepted.

Trunk or Treat and Soup Supper

Candy and Soup donations are needed. Please contact Meleah Greer if you can donate or for more information.

Fall Bazaar

Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 8 AM - 2 PM

Breakfast will be sold starting at 8 AM and will include sausage biscuits, coffee, and juice. 

Lunch will be sold with choices of hot dogs, chicken salad, pimento cheese, or egg salad croissant. Combos will include a bag of chips and a drink.

Sermon for September 20 - 1 Corinthians 1:18-24 “The Crux of the Matter”

It all comes back to the cross. When we proclaim the good news, we must center on the cross because this is the wisdom and power of God. The world can’t see that, and that was the point. We must wrestle with how the cross can be wise when it seems foolish. How it can be victory when it seems like defeat. How it can bring life when it looks only like death.
